Job Description

Castel Malawi Limited (CML) and its subsidiaries are leading players in the beverages manufacturing industry. In its drive to ensure improved and sustained efficiency and effectiveness in its Supply Chain operations, Castel Malawi Limited has revamped its internal Workshop Operations.

We therefore seek to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill various job openings that have arisen in our Workshop section.


Purpose of the Job

The position exits to provide efficient management of services and maintenance of vehicles and machines so that there is optimum fleet availability and utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies that ensure efficiency in the way the Workshop operates.
  • Plan and organize schedules for maintenance and repair of all vehicles and machines to meet
    company standards.
  • Manage and control usage of spare parts.
  • Ensure highest quality of work is done.
  • Ensure highest productivity of all staff.
  • Manage workshop staff i.e., mechanics, auto electricians, tyre fitters, wash bay operators in terms of time keeping, leave, sick leave and all other personnel matters.
  • Train and coach staff to ensure correct work procedures are followed.
  • Maintain discipline and take disciplinary action when needed.
  • Housekeeping of facilities to company standards at all time.
  • Report on all workshop activities.
  • Record keeping of all vehicle repair documentation and condition reports as well as driver pre-trip inspections.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

The ideal candidate should at least have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Motor Vehicle Mechanics Grade 1 (NTTC) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering plus TEVETA Certificates. Those with Bachelors’ degree in Production or Project Management will have added advantage
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic working on heavy vehicles and machines of which 5 years should be experience as Workshop Manager.
