Job Description

Holy Family College of Nursing and Midwifery, one of the Mission Colleges under the umbrella of CHAM, owned by the Blantyre Archdiocese invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy:

Post: Tutor – (Grade I)
Reporting to: The Head of department
Terms of employment: Pensionable contract for unspecified period of time


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare lessons in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi syllabus and College Curriculum
  • Plan and organise practical lessons in relation to the theory covered.
  • Asses and evaluate student’s theoretical and practical performance.
  • Submit reports to Heads of Sections on student’s theoretical and practical abilities and general behaviour after each block and clinical allocation.
  • Participate in disciplining of students
  • Prepare clinical objectives based on theoretical content covered.
  • Conduct clinical assessments of the students.
  • Participate in Curriculum development.
  • Perform any other duties assigned to him/her by the College authority which are related to his/her duty.


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognised University. Those with a Health related Master’s Degree will have an added advantage.
  • At least three years working experience in a clinical area.
  • Should be registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
