Job Description

Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Malawi (BCMCF-M) is a not-for-profit organization working in partnership with the Malawi Government in the health sector. Our Mission is to provide high-quality, high-impact, highly ethical pediatric and family-centered health care, health professional training and clinical research, focused on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, malnutrition and other conditions impacting the health and well-being of children and families worldwide.

The Baylor-Tingathe program developed in 2008 initially responded to suboptimal uptake of PMTCT and pediatric HIV services in Malawi and has grown over the past 12 years to support the full cascade of HIV care and treatment services. The current CORE programming seeks to support the Malawi Government in achieving epidemic control, by providing client focused care to People Living with HIV from the time of diagnosis to linkage and full engagement in care. BCMCFM’-s CORE programming is funded by USAID, and is currently operating in 6 districts in Malawi. BCMCF-M is seeking qualified candidates to fill the positions of:


POSITION:                         Transport Officer



CONTRACT DURATION:

Position Description and Responsibilities


The Transport Officer is primarily responsible for the motorcycle fleet management of the Baylor – Tingathe.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Monitor motorcycle use, rider’s training
  • Monitor motorcycle usage and recommend for repairs based on regular maintenance schedule
  • Monitor repairs to ensure repairs are done properly, on time, and with genuine parts.
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure Baylor – Tingathe is getting the best value for money
  • Collect monthly motorcycle reports and input into monthly excel database.
  • Recruit and manage all Baylor Tingathe Drivers and Motorcycle riders and Mechanics
  • Provide Recommendations to improve Fleet Performance
  • Monitor and Track Fuel for all vehicles.  Report discrepancies to the STO.


Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and Track vehicles using Car Track Monitoring System
  • Monitor vehicle and recommend for repairs based on regular maintenance
  • Monitor repairs to ensure repairs are done on properly, on time, and with genuine parts.
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure Baylor – Tingathe is getting the best value for money and
  • Collect monthly vehicle reports and input into monthly excel database.
  • Recruit and manage all Baylor Tingathe Drivers
  • Provide Recommendations to improve Fleet Performance
  • Monitor and Track Fuel for all vehicles.  Report discrepancies to the STO.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Fleet management, or Relevant qualification as a Motorcycle Mechanic
  • Fluent in written and oral English and Chichewa
  • Familiarity with Malawi government Vehicle Regulations
  • Familiarity with Car Tracks software
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products especially Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader
