Job Description

St Andrew’s International Primary School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to take responsibility for assisting the Early Years Teacher and Nursery Room Leader , starting Monday 6th September 2021.

Position: Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

The Role

  • The successful candidate will work with teachers and Room Leaders within the Early Years Department to support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff .
  • Differentiate and adapt learning programmes within the EYFS to suit the needs of allocated pupils.
  • Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of children as agreed with the teacher.
  • Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements on Tapestry Online Learning Journal, and provide feedback as to next steps to allow for each child’s progression and development
  • Select and adapt appropriate resources / methods to facilitate agreed learning activities.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.

Qualifications, skills and Experience

  • Malawi School Certificate (MSC) / GCSE Maths & English grades A-C or equivalent.
  • Working at Cache Level 3
  • Be working towards the professional standards for HLTA
  • IT competent
  • Experience in an Early Years setting
  • Demonstrate specialist skills appropriate to the Early Years
  • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety
  • Be working towards the professional standards for HLTA
  • Experience of using Tapestry Online Learning Journal is advantageous
