Good Neighbors International-Malawi (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors Malawi currently implements various community development projects regarding child health, education and sanitation and income generation.

Position: Sustainable Agriculture Senior Coordinator

Role description

Project Coordinator responsibilities include working closely with The Programme Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for Sustainable Agriculture projects. He\/She will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and reports. To succeed in this role, Senior Coordinator should have excellent time management and communication skills, as the post deals with community and other Government agencies in Sustainable Agriculture field.

Ultimately, the Sustainable Agriculture Senior Coordinator’s duties are to ensure that all sustainable Agriculture projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards.

The Sustainable Agriculture Senior Coordinator is responsible for:

• Coordinate Sustainable Agriculture activities, resources, equipment and information
• Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
• Liaise with Community to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives in SA
• Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
• Make sure that Community’s needs are met as projects evolve
• Help prepare budgets
• Analyze risks and opportunities
• Oversee project procurement management
• Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
• Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
• Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
• Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests

The sustainable agriculture senior coordinator should poses the following:

• Should have minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sustainable Agriculture.
• Design sustainable agriculture experiment
• Develop a sustainable farming model which is properly applicable in Malawi (inclusive permanent bed, mulching, compost, natural pesticide)
• Train Farmers
• Build network and conduct forum on sustainable agriculture
• Project planning, monitoring and management
• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Good knowledge of budgeting management
• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Sustainable Agriculture.
