Interviewer for a health survey on household level in Blantyre city and Chiradzulu districts
General duties:
Conduct structured health-related interviews with individuals from designated audiences
Apply detailed procedures for systematic data collection
Follow MSF survey protocols to ensure confidentiality of information
Ensure accurate recording of results
Explain the purpose of interviews and answer questions by the interviewee as needed
Assume other duties necessary for a successful implementation of the planned survey as per instructions of the supervisors
Contract details: Daily worker contract
Intended starting date: 9 September 2019
Estimated length of survey: 6 - 8 weeks
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Degree / Diploma student in Health Promotion, Education, Social Work, Public Health, Sociology, Anthropology, or related fields
Experience desired
Experienced in conducting health-related interviews at household level
Experienced in community involvement activities and/or health promotion
Experience in field research activities is an asset
Work experience with NGOs in the health sector; MSF experience is an asset
Skills needed
Excellent reading and writing in English
Fluent in the local language Chichewa
Experienced in the use of computer tablets is a must
Available for the entire time of the survey (training and interview days)
Willing and able to work on Saturdays and Sundays during the survey time if necessary
Experienced in the use of using GPS devices is an asset
Self-initiative, pro-activity, flexibility, self-motivation to participate in the survey
Openness and not biased in expectations of the outcome of the survey
