WM Malawi is inviting suitable applications to fill the following existing post tenable at the Lilongwe Office:

Position (1): Senior Projects Engineer

The Senior Projects Engineer position is critical to the success of Water Mission’s Country Program. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring that Water Missions’ water treatment solutions are designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with appropriate standards. This is an excellent position for an individual with competencies and successful track record in water engineering.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

•  Establish and collaborate in a team environment to provide technical direction and assistance for other engineers, technicians, and volunteers
•  Perform process-engineering tasks including process design, calculations, and development of plans, specifications, and drawings
•  Prepare written proposals and cost estimates for assigned projects
•  Provide onsite project management in support of approved projects
•  Conduct field inspections and site assessments as needed under the direction of the Country Director and/or other relevant leaders within Water Mission Organization
•  Provide disaster response support as needed
•  Maintain regular contact with supervisors in the Country Program
• Prepare and make presentations to the operations team, partners and volunteers as directed
•  Represent WM in development forums and technical working groups (district or national) in the effort of building strong partnerships with government and other stakeholders as delegated by leadership
•  Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

•  Bachelor’s or Higher Degree in Engineering – Water, Civil, Chemical or Mechanical are preferred
•  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Water and/Water Waste Engineering is required
•  Professional Engineering License in the country of residence will be an added advantage but not a pre-requisite
•  Advanced skills with office computer programs (Word, Excel and Outlook) and familiarity with Engineering programs like EPANET, AutoCAD/Power CAD, Solid works/ProE and other appropriate packages
•  Excellent verbal and written Communication skills (English and Indigenous languages)
•  Professing testimony of Christian conversion and belonging to a Christ centered Church
•  A clear Calling to Christian service and integral mission
•  High level of impeccable integrity, stewardship, and team player
•  Excellent analytical skills
•  Excellent process design skills
•  Excellent relationship skills
