Job Description

Due to the expansion of mining operations, Mchenga Coal Mine Limited is looking for a qualified person to fill the position of a Senior Auto Electrician to be based at the Mine Site in Rumphi District.



Position: SENIOR AUTO -ELECTRICIAN



Job Summary: Responsible for all auto-electrical faults on Earth Moving Equipment’s and Vehicles reporting to the Senior Plant Foreman.


Duties & Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical repairs on various vehicles and Diesel Plant machineries.
• Maintaining and repairing diesel engine of motor vehicles and earth moving equipment’s
• Performs trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on vehicles and equipment’s and establishing faults in charging and starting systems
• Record observations and findings during diagnostic procedure and decide on the correct method of repair, as necessary
• Able to analyze continuity of different circuits
• Knowledge in battery maintenance
• Conduct final check/test for all equipment’s prior release

Job Specifications

• Must have a proven minimum of 3 years working experience in a busy industry those with mining knowledge will have an added advantage
• Qualified Auto-Electrician with a minimum of a National Trade Test Grade 1

Skills

• Vast knowledge in earth moving equipment’s, air compressors, generators and motor vehicles
• Must be able to think logically and clearly
• Must be safety conscious, to avoid unnecessary accidents
• Must be reliable and punctual
• High integrity& professionalism
• Good communication ability both verbally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal skills
