Job Description

ADMARC Limited was established a the Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) , a statutory corporation under chapter 67.03 of the laws of Malawi to trade in agricultural based commodities both on domestic and export markets; provide reliable markets for smallholder produce, among other impossibilities.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB

To mange the process of identifying,analyzing, evaluating and treating risks that might impact on the business objectives and to ensure the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Among other duties and responsibilities, the incumbent will be expected to:

  • Setting up the risk management division and delivering the risk management strategy for the organization using exceptional leadership skills, network of internal and external alliances and highly developmental business skills
  • Formulating and developing risk management strategies, tools and practices
  • Ensuring that ADMARC’s risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations,and strategic imperatives of the organization
  • Assisting departments to identify and asses risks
  • Organizing training to create risk and compliance awareness at all levels in the company
  • Reporting to Executive management and to the Board of Directors on risk and compliance issues on quarterly basis
  • Developing and maintaining risk management policies and procedures for all significant risks
  • Coordinating risk management practices for risk that can span across Departments;
  • Ensuring good corporate governance
  • Advising on the use of technology based tools or methodologies to review design and / or implement products and services that optimize risks in the organization as a competitive business advantage
  • Monitoring and evaluating the institutions risk and give corrective action where necessary
  • Driving and delivering effective business continuity strategies to support and in the time of disaster, recover the company’s critical business functions and data
  • Evaluating all the projects that ANDMARC takes up and advising on applicable risks involved
  • Advising management on most appropriate reforms and modern activities that should be put into consideration; and
  • Giving guidance to stuff under his supervision and produce monthly reports

 

The successful candidates is expected to; 

  • To have a minimum of a first Degree in Accounting and member of ICAM
  • Relevant Masters degree will be added advantage
  • Have not less than three years work experience in a similar position in a busy and reputable financial organization or audit firm
  • Have the ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Be result oriented and self motivated
