MwAPATA Institute is an independent agriculture policy think tank in Malawi. The Institute is affiliated to the National Planning Commission (NPC) of Malawi and Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). MwAPATA Institute is engaging the Government of Malawi, private sector and civil society stakeholders in a program of applied policy analysis. capacity building, knowledge dissemination, and policy coordination on topics related to agriculture, natural resource management, and rural development. The ultimate goal of MwAPATA Institute is to accelerate the adoption of effective Malawian-led policies and programs to drive broad-based agricultural transformation. diversification and improved smallholder incomes and nutrition in Malawi. The Institute will play a leading role in identifying strategies that will improve the investment climate, promote diversification, and promote increased commercialization and productivity within Malawi’s agricultural sector and then build consensus and support for their implementation.
