Job Description

Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) is a regulatory body that was established in 1999 by an Act of Parliament with the mandate to coordinate and facilitate technical, entrepreneurial and vocational education and training in Malawi. Apart from the Secretariat in Lilongwe, the Authority has three regional service centres in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.

An employment opportunity has now risen within the Authority for the position of Regional Service Centre Manager for which the Authority invites suitably qualified professionals to apply.

Position: Regional Service Centre Manager


This is an exciting and challenging position which reports to the Director of Training Programs. The Job requires the holder to manage and promote implementation of TEVET Programmes in the region. He/she will also be responsible for day to day management as well as overall performance of the Service Centre, in addition to being accountable for human, financial and other resources at the Centre.

The Authority is, therefore, looking for individuals who are results-driven- and can motivate a team of multiple roles and responsibilities to achieve the set objectives in line with TEVETA’s strategic plan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation of TEVET programmes at Regional Level (Apprenticeship, Informal Sector Skills Development Programmes, Productivity Enhancement Programme. Funding and Finance, Quality Assurance and Regulatory, and Compliance Services).
  • Attends to complaints and queries related to regional TEVET programmes and Operation matters.
  • Allocates work to and supervises subordinates.
  • Administers performance and reward management systems, processes and procedures.
  • Coordinates the formulation of regional plans and budgets and manages resources allocated.
  • Controls the utilization of TEVETA regional resources and accounting for them appropriately in line with the Authority’s policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Prepares and issues regional reports.


If you are capable of performing the above tasks and responsibilities, you also need to possess the following qualifications and experience for us to consider you eligibility:

  • Minimum of Masters’ Degree in Technical/ Vocational Education, Operations Management, Business Administration and Entrepreneurship
  • At least six years’ relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player.
