Job Description

Blantyre Water Board is a government-owned institution established and reconstituted under the Waterworks Act of 1995 to supply potable water to residents of the City of Blantyre City and other surrounding areas. Blantyre Water Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacant positions:

Position: RADIO AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

Purpose of the Job

 

To carry out installation and maintenance of radios and any electronics equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Installing new radios and any communication systems.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on radios and any communication equipment.
  •  Participating in major breakdown maintenance of machines within the Board.
  •  Carrying out cathodic protection;
  •  Performing other relevant duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • At least three (3) years proven work experience in electrical and electronics engineering field

Additional Skills and Abilities

  • Should be organized, team player and hardworking
  • Adequate and proficient knowledge of maintenance of communication radios and electronics equipment
  • Should be conversant with hand held radios, transmitter, base station radios and any electronic equipment.
