VACANCY: PROJECT OFFICERS (3 POSTS)
The Sustainable Food Systems for Rural Resilience and Transformation (TRANSFORM) program is a four-year program funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy with initial one-year inception phase and thereafter a three-year agreement. The program will be coordinated by three Norwegian organizations namely; the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), the Development Fund of Norway (DF), and Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The overall objective is to strengthen local food systems in selected Extension Planning Areas (EPAs) in five of Malawi's rural districts and to demonstrate a sustainable improvement of food and nutrition security, resilience to climate change and income among agriculture-dependent rural households. By increasing resilience to climate change, diversifying agriculture production, developing new value chains and closing the gender gap in agriculture, the program will contribute towards transformation of the agricultural sector in Malawi.
Network for Youth Development (NfYD) is a partner in the program focusing on youth and gender and will be implementing the project together with the generalist partners in all impact districts.
It is against this background that NfYD seeks to recruit experienced persons with sound knowledge and skills to fill the positions of 3 Project Officers.
Position: Project Officers (3 posts): Based in Mzimba, Kasungu and Rumphi
Purpose of the Position(s)
Project Officer(s) lead the implementation of project at district level. The officer(s) will work with in school and out of school youth, local leaders, other program implementing partners, local governance structures, the District Youth Officer (DYO) and the District Agriculture Development Officer (DADO) in order to increase effective participation of youth, more especially young women in all program activities. The Project Officers will ensure that they contribute towards closing the gender gap and increasing self-reliance amongst the targeted project participants.
