Introduction
BSED with financial and technical support from Save the Children International is implementing a five -year Norad Framework Agreement Programme Securing Children’s Rights through Education and Protection (SCREP) that is funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). The main goal of the project is call girls and boys learn and are safe in a quality learning environment. The programme will be implemented in Mwanza, Neno, Mzimba South and Lilongwe Urban Education Districts from 2019-2023. The Programme aims to contribute to the strengthening of Civil Society in Malawi to demand quality education with attention to learning outcomes, inclusion, protection from ut.dd marriage and teenage pregnancies and access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). It is multi-sectoral and integrated with the underlying basis being UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
BSED, therefore, seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced, results-oriented person tie following vacancy that is based in Neno district.
Purpose of position
Based in Neno District and reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Officer will have overall responsibility of providing technical support in the implementation of SCREP programme at community and district levels. She/he will also be responsible for networking with the other project counterparts, stakeholders at district and community levels and other programs as necessary, to ensure achievement of the programme goal and objectives. He/she will plan, coordinate and work closely with SCREP Project Coordinator, MEAL officer and Finance and Administration Officer, District Education Manager (DEM),s Office, District Social Welfare Office, District Health Office and other key stakeholders at district level. The Project Officer is expected to have strong skills in child protection and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights programming, advocacy, community mobilization, and adult training facilitation.
