Job Description

Nandolo Farmers Association (NFA) is a pigeon pea farmer based organisation working with 33 Cooperatives across the country in 9 Districts. The Association aims at combining forces to achieve increased production as well as maximising returns through marketing, identifying markets and processing. Pigeon pea farming helps in reducing poverty through earning Forex – as an export product for the country therefore high production means more forex form exportation of the produce; Improving soil fertility; Growing pigeon peas on a commercial scale would lead to the creation of jobs through value addition; and Pigeon pea stand a greater chance of doing well than other crops because it is drought resistant.

NFA is therefore looking for an energetic, creative and hard working personnel to fit into the secretariat team and help NFA achieve its objectives.

Position: Project Manager

JOB PURPOSE: – Accomplishes project objectives by planning project activities, evaluating, implementation, progress of project and provide leadership direction for all projects.


  • Must have a very sound accounting background with either Bachelor of Accountancy or Business Administration Degree or any other equivalent qualification obtained from reputable or accredited University or College.
  • Must have experience and knowledge in Project Management with not less than 5 years’ work experience in managing donor funded projects.
  • Those with experience to manage USAID and/or UKAID donor funded projects will have an advantage.


  • Ability to write fund proposals
  • Ability to manage and audit financial and other company resources
  • Skills in active listenership, coaching, decision-making, interpersonal communication, judgement, monitoring, persuasion, self-starter and result oriented, resource management and mobilisation, time management, vision, and able to produce all reports deemed necessary.


  • Provide leadership and supervisory role on the project team
  • Create and deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing
  • needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources and assign responsibilities.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s).
  • Ensures competency in required project methodology.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
  • Works closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s).
  • Understands basic revenue models and P/L; meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Works with developers and designers to define and document questions, liaise with business via email, zoom meetings or phone to get new requirements and explain feasibility.
  • Submits project status reports to stakeholders; reviews bugs; anticipates and reacts to change.
