Job Description

PROJECT COORDINATOR-AFIKEPO ADVOCACY FOR ENHANCED NUTRITION SECURITY AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT PROJECT

The Civil Society Agriculture Network (CISANET) and Save the Children are implementing the Advocacy for Enhanced Nutrition Security and Community Empowerment Project under the umbrella AFIKEPO program. The Program is being implemented with finding from the European Union, financed by the 11th European Development Fund. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to enhanced nutrition security of all Malawians for achieving optimal nutrition for women of child bearing age, adolescent girls, infants and young children in 10 selected Malawian districts of Chitipa„ Karonga, Mzimba, Nkhata-Bay, Kasungu, Sabina, Nkhotakota, Mulanje, Chiradzulu and Thyolo. CISANET is therefore looking for a suitably qualified person to fill a short term position of a Project Coordinator who will report to the Director of Progams. The Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the project.


Position: Project Coordinator


Key qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Economics or related fields with a solid experience in policy analysis and advocacy
  • Experience in policy development and implementation processes and governance issues at both the central and local government levels
  • Demonstrable experience in advocacy on behalf of a public constituency, including the design and implantation of advocacy strategies.
  • Knowledge of multi-sectoral nature of nutrition and nutrition related policies and regulatory framework for the rural development
  • Good research and policy analysis skills as well as good reporting and writing skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate to a large and diverse membership and the general public
  • Proven ability to encourage, motivate and negotiate commitments from individuals, organisations and other entities.
  • Self-starter, energetic, analytical, high initiative and team builder
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
