MHRRC seeks to engage the services of:

POSITION: PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Administration, the key responsibilities of the Project Accountant will be as follows:

• To produce accurate and timely, monthly, quarterly and annual financial and related reports in accordance with requirements of donor specifications
• Assist the Head of Finance and Administration in monitoring and reporting on the movement of the organization’s funds as well as managing the project’s resources
• To maintain the cashbooks and updating the general ledger
• Checking arithmetic accuracy and budgetary compliance of all fund’s requests
• Issuing of cheques, making follow ups of all disbursed funds for timely liquidation and banking all unused funds
• Maintenance of the cheque register.
• Updating fixed asset register
• Preparing bank reconciliations
• Filing of finance related documents
• Any other duties assigned by the •Head of Finance and Administration.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:


Essential:

• Degree in Accounting with three years of work experience or Diploma in Accounting with a minimum of five years’ work experience in similar job.
• Practical knowledge of MS Office Products, SAGE Accounting, QuickBooks or any similar computerized accounting system;
• Experience with an NGO working environment and donor funded projects
• High moral, ethical and professional standards;
• Integrity and ability to deliver under extreme pressure;
• Experience with an NGO working environment is an added advantage

Desirable:

• Strong writing, oral and presentation skills.
• Result oriented
• Self-starter
• Ready to work even during odd hours and with minimum supervision.
• Team player.
