Then IM Swedish Development Partner is the right piece for you. Right now we are looking for for a Program Manager for the Southern Africa Regional Office stationed in Lilongwe, Malawi. Your role

As a Program Manager you are responsible for partner accompaniment around networking, communications and developing of the partner ecosystem This will be in accordance with IM’s overall . strategic plan for 2019 – 2023: building strategic alliances and networking using partners grassroots actions, leaning, research and advocacy capabilities. You will have the opportunity to design, plan and implement interventions that contribute to sustainable societal change in the countries we operate in You will also be responsible for managing the partnerships with different types of partners in the IM Partner Eco-system within the region, as per IM’s approach to partnership, strategic processes and qualitative requirements. In addition. you will be involved in various internal processes besides actively participating in IM working groups together alongside colleagues in the global IM family.

There are no staff management responsibilities as a Program Manager. You report to the Regional Director for the Southern Africa

Your profile


  • Be qualified to an advanced degree level from a recognized university in relevant areas – Social Science, Economics, or Development Management.
  • You have a minimum of three years’ relevant experience of development cooperation – preferably in supporting civil society organizations and programming communications, agents of positive changes
  • Extensive experience in development cooperation in general and an understanding of civil society organisations as agents of change, their dynamics opportunities and challenges in particular.
  • Intermediate experience in outcome and results assessment.
  • You possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • You are a team player that finds it easy to collaborate with colleagues and others
  • You are flexible, adaptable innovative and can take initiatives in finding solutions.
  • You have programme management skills.

Other Information

Duty station: Lilongwe, Malawi with occasional travels to other countries in the region

Frame of contract: Two years with a possibility for extension.
