Job Description

Malawi Mangoes (Operations) Limited (MMOL) have been awarded licenses to cultivate, sell, process and export industrial hemp and medicinal cannabis and are recruiting a team to develop the new business. The development will commence in MMOL’s existing farms and greenhouses in Salima with a longer- term strategic view of open field cultivation.



We seek a Production Supervisor that has hands on experience in:

  • Operating within specialised areas of responsibility including plant production / cultivation,
    Integrated Pest Management (IPM), harvesting, logistics and handling of plants
  • Ensuring quality and consistency of crops

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the greenhouse / open field cannabis production
    and Cultivation Plan
  • Managing and supervising staff to ensure assigned duties and tasks are carried out according to
    standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Responsible for the training of teams to ensure that best operating practices are always adhered
  • Responsible for data collection of all agronomical activities and labour usage. Cataloguing, organising and maintaining records of plants
  • Maintain and follow policies and procedures as defined by the Nursery Manager
  • Complete daily reports and implementing against production protocols – crop cultivation, quality and consistency, risk management and mitigation (pest and disease), trials to optimise crops and yields


  • A minimum of Diploma in Agriculture, candidates with Horticultural Sciences or Agronomy from
    an accredited university would have an advantage
  • Not less than 5 years’ experience in horticulture or agronomy in a busy agricultural environment
  • Ability to manage a large farm labour force
  • Experience in greenhouse development and production is desired
  • Data collection skills and managing large volumes of data is a must.
  • Experience in research and development
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn are a must
