Difference Construction (Malawi) Ltd Company, a reputable manufacturer of high-quality cement made products based along Mchinji Road in Lilongwe; is urgently seeking to engage the services of a suitably qualified, motivated, capable and experienced individual to fill the vacant position of Production Manager.



Position: Production Manager



The Production Manager, who will be the overseer of the production activities and processes as well as workshop activities will among other things be responsible for:

• Planning and organizing production schedules
• Scheduling manpower and resources for the most effective production and maintenance outcomes
• Having a good understanding of safe and efficient operations of a Heavy Equipment Workshop; ensuring that Health and Safety measures are met
• Determining quality control standards.
• Having hands on experience in Mechanical, Hydraulics and Automobile Electricals maintenance.
• Systemizing application of maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
• Developing cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work
• Extracting relevant information regarding required maintenance and convert in plan for execution.
• Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database; keeping Inventory of all necessary machinery parts.
• Applying good stores management practices that include putting strict controls around raw materials (cement in particular) management and inventory production and management and parts management.
• Organizing a full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair / preventive / predictive / design-out activities on the organization’s Workshop Machinery.
• Liaising with Marketing and Sales Staff on the daily production targets
• Organizing relevant training sessions for production and workshop staff

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Required

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience or Diploma with 4 years’ experience in Production /Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical Engineering.
• Understanding principles, practices and techniques of production.
• Proficiency with computer programs, such as word, Excel and Power-point
• Analyzing costs and managing budgets
• Excellent communication and analytical skills

Knowledge and Skills

• Analyze and effectively interpret information as well as capable of working as a part of a team.
• Innovative and original with his/her ideas and able to take challenges and can work under pressure.
• Multitasking is mandatory
• Problem Solving Skills
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
