Malawi Country Office is looking for dynamic and honest candidate to fill the vacant position of Procurement\/Logistics Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensues that material resources are correctly planned in agreement with the Head of Project and Finance
• Prepare annual project procurement plans
• Ensure procurement compliance with internal procedures, donor as well as local legislation.
• Help the project management team with general project procurement and logistics planing in terms of specialist requirement to ensure Best Value for Money
• Ensure that there is professional coordination and ongoing examination of work that has been carried out.
• Lead the planning and processing of local purchases, storage, transportation, distribution and use of funds including documentation in accordance with Welthungerhilfe standards, contractual agreements and the respective specifications and requirements of the project and co-financers
• Help Head of Project establish financial and material requirements.
• Involve in the preparation and monthly revision of operational plans.
• Involve in the preparation of regular reports about the project’s progress and on-site developments.
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal procurement policies and procedures
• Work eth internal and external stakeholders (procurement group) to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements.
• Plan and organise imported goods (import regulations, custom handling etc)
• Manage the maintenance of inventories and updating inventory records
• Manage fleet for all the country office and project vehicles including managing and supervising Drivers.
• Responsible for ensuring that storage facilities are fully functioning (spare parts, consumables, etc.) and are correctly managed
• Fulfil any other tasks which are assigned by the management and correspond in general with the character of this position.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degrees from a recognised University in any of the following: Business Administration, finance and Supply Chan Management plus 5 years experience doing in procurement/Logistics. A professional procurement qualification e.g. CIPS is desired. Those with master’s degree has an eddied advantage.
• The candidate must prove that he/she acquired sound knowledge (severed years working in similar context) on the products and services that will have to be procured/purchased in the country progamme, both locally and internationally
