Arch Art Lab architects & urban designers seeks to recruit a


The Role
We are on the search for an energetic and vibrant person to join our growing practice. As we continue to experience growth, we require a new operations lead to help organize and manage our practice.

You will be a key member of the management team, responsible for supporting the Principal Architect in the areas of design, project management, growth, revenue, profitability, staff management and client relationships. You will be responsible for nurturing a positive, team oriented environment, ensuring financial goals and deadlines are being met, and assisting the Principal Architect in business development.

Our Practice

Arch Art Lab (AAL) Architects is a respected architectural design and construction management consultancy firm. AAL has been providing urban designing, architecture, and construction management services. AAL is currently tackling a range of exciting projects and has a solid base on projects which are financed by Malawi’s Donor Partners. We have the capability to timeously respond to the most challenging circumstances of any project that we get involved in.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of Eight (8) years’ experience in Design of Public Buildings with experience in project management, client/consultant contact, and design studio experience.
  • Strong software proficiency and skills in digital project development.
  • Proficiency in CAD required, with high proficiency in Sketch-up, Photo-Shop, In-Design and Graphic Production desired
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of planning and zoning codes for all project sizes and types that the firm works on.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of General Plans, Specific Plans, Design Guidelines, and Planning related documents is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to manage large scope operations and provide leadership to multiple levels of management.
  • Must have business vision, excellent communication skills, and be able to represent the firm effectively to staff, clients, and the community in general.
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious with ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership experience and effective communication skills (both verbally and writing).

Education Background

  • University Degree in Architecture, Civil-Structural Engineering, Construction-related field. Post-graduate degree preferred. PMP is a plus.
