Job Description

PORTFOLIO MONITORING MANAGER – (TENABLE AT HEAD OFFICE, LILONGWE)

Job Profile for the Position

This is a senior position and requires a self-motivated, dynamic and assertive individual with proven experience and notable achievements in the lending field.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Credit.


Job Purpose

To provide support at senior level to the Head of Credit on portfolio monitoring in line with Credit Policy as well as Reserve Bank of Malawi Directives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • • Ensuring that the Bank portfolio is performing according to set targets.
    • Reviewing the Bank’s advances book from time to time and establish signs of non- performing.
    • Ensuring that all advances showing problem signs are addressed earlier enough before they become bad and promptly reported to Management.
    • Reduce forward roll rates and prevent accounts from moving into impairment bearing brackets.
    • Preparation and submission of monitoring and performance reports and dashboards to the Head of Credit.
    • Preparation and submission of Basel II reports to the Head of Credit.
    • Ensure that all monthly, quarterly and annual credit risk and other statutory returns/reports are properly prepared, signed off and submitted within set deadlines.


    Competencies

    • • Understanding of Reserve Bank prudential guidelines on lending
      • Highly developed analytical and numeracy skills
      • Very good negotiation and communication skills
      • Very good knowledge of MyBucks lending products
      • Conversant with Flexcube Core Banking System.
      • Team player
      • Attention to details
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Excellent in Microsoft Excel and Word

      Qualifications

      • A first degree in Economics/ Accounting or Business Administration with at least a years experience in a similar position. 
       
      Remuneration : A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
