Job Description

Holy Family College of Nursing and Midwifery, one of the Mission Colleges under the umbrella of CHAM, owned by the Blantyre Archdiocese invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy:


Reporting to: The Dean of Faculty (DOF)

Terms of employment: Pensionable contract for unspecified period of time

Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrate progressive, constructive, academic and professional leadership.
  • Provide advice on strategic issues such as the balance of student recruitment, staff appointment and other performance matters.
  • Teach a range of materials.
  • Ensure that programme design and delivery comply with the quality standards.
  • Ensure that all accreditation requirements of the Board are met.
  • Establish and implement standards for quality assurance, academic performance and Progression.
  • Prepare lessons in accordance with the Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons Board.
  • Asses and evaluate students’ theoretical and practical performance.
  • Monitor the evaluation and improvement of staff and student performance.
  • Submit data and information required by the Board in a prescribed format.
  • Performing all duties assigned to him/her by the College authority which are related to his/her duty.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree, two years of relevant work experience and must be registered as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons board.
  • He/she must be a team player and have good communication skills.
