Job Description

Zomba District Council with support from the American people through US Agency for International Development (USAID), will over the course of three years, implement critical health and social welfare activities at the district level and contribute to the improvement of HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health (MCH), Family Planning (FP), Nutrition and Social Welfare service delivery in Zomba district. To achieve the intended objectives of the government to government agreement, Zomba District

Council intends to hire additional Health Care and Support Staff workers.

The Council therefore invites suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant position existing in Zomba:-


Post : Nurse Midwife Technician (Grade K)


Salary: Within Grade K salary scale segment


Age Limit : Not older than 40 years


Qualification

• Applicants must be non-serving officers in possession of Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery obtained from accredited Institution, and registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.

Duties;

• Provide quality nursing care using the nursing/midwifery process.
• Perform activities of daily living for the patients 24hours/ day.
• Administer medication and treatment to patients and clients.
• Assist in the rehabilitation of patients through the application of principles of prevention of deformities, range of motion exercise and body alignment.
• Observe patients’ condition and progress.
• Make necessary preparation and after care of equipment for treatment.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients’ care.
• Use appropriate communication skills during nursing care.
• Collaborate with other health workers in meeting specific needs of the patients.
• Adhere to standard precautions of infection prevention and control practices.
• Build therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians and fellow health workers.
• Document and maintain accurate records of all Nursing care activities performed.
• Report accurately individual patient care to Ward In- charge or Doctor.
• Conduct proper handover of all patients’ bed by bed or (according to Ward Department Policy).
• Maintain professional code of conduct at all times. Employment Terms
