Job Description

St. Luke’s Hospital is a CHAM Institution under the Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire (ADUS) and is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill various positions existing at St. Luke’s hospital and its health facilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title of Post : Nurse Midwife Technician

Grade : K

Reporting to : Senior Nursing Sister

Salary : within salary scale of Grade K

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide quality nursing care using the nursing/midwifery process
  • Perform activities of daily living for the patients 24 hours/day
  • Observe patients’ condition and progress
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient care
  • Use appropriate common skills during nursing care
  • Administer medication and treatment to patients and clients
  • Assist in the rehabilitation of patient through application of principles of prevention of deformities, range of motion exercise and body alignment
  • Adhere to continuous professional development
  • Document and maintain accurate records of all nursing care activities performed
  • Building therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians and fellow health workers.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be in possession of Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery obtained from a recognized institution
  • Must be a registered member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi
  • Must be in possession of Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
