Job Description

Nkhoma Synod Youth and Children Ministry (NSYCM), an arm of CCAP Nkhoma Synod, with support from UNICEF Malawi Country Program invites applications from qualified and well-experienced applicants for the following posts tenable in Lilongwe, Machinga, Zomba and Blantyre.



Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and Programme Officer in ensuring effective and efficient management and delivery of the project activities through annual planning, budgeting, reporting and day-to-day project operations consistent with project cycle management and the project’s goal with highest standards of programmatic quality
  • Lead in the development and implementation of project monitoring, evaluation and learning (E&L) plan
  • Lead in development of technical design of M&E methodologies and monitoring tools including data collection, storage and analysis.
  • Work with project staff to ensure Result Framework is in constant check all the time and ensure reporting is in line with the Work Schedules
  • Provide technical advice to staff and stakeholders on M&E decisions, such as the identification of priorities, needs and indicators; the design, set up and use of M&E systems to collect data; and the design of Evaluation and Learning studies.
  • Identify opportunities to provide and present evaluation and learning findings and data to Nkhoma Synod Youth and Children Ministry and CCAP Nkhoma Synod at large to contribute to decision-making and strategic planning processes in project in line with UNICEF
  • Ensure information from M&E activities is properly analyzed and written for reporting and learning.
  • Collation and analysis of M&E data (including through surveys, interviews, case studies and reports) and analyze against outcomes to draw out learning and implications.
  • Triangulation of findings using different types of data and analysis of trends over time to make informed decisions,
  • Scrutinize and review monthly, quarterly reports, annual reports and sharing of written feedback about impact and learning findings to stakeholder groups.
  • Participate in external events in order to undertake M&E related data collection or share organizational and programme E&L findings.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Minimum degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Information Management or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 3 years’ working in a monitoring and evaluating role involving the design and implementation and analysis of monitoring, evaluation or operational research including experience in supporting and promoting learning in an organizational context.
  • Experience in social science research methods, relevant to monitoring and evaluation (both quantitative and qualitative methods)
  • Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles and practice
