CARE is an International NGO that works in 95 countries around the world to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. In Malawi, CARE works in collaboration with the Government of Malawi and other local and international partners.
CARE Malawi has secured funding from CARE USA to support Government of Malawi efforts in limiting the impact of COVID 19 pandemic in the education sector. CARE will work with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and other local partners in the selected districts of central and southern Malawi to respond to the impact of COVID 19 in education of adolescents for a period of 2.5 years. The goal of the project is to increase access to education for rural adolescents through addressing the education and COVID 19 challenges in order to reduce the number of adolescents, particularly girls, at risk of having to drop out of school and also support adolescents, particularly girls, who have had to drop out of school to transition back into school or more meaningful employment.

The Project Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator (M&E Coordinator) shall be responsible for designing, monitoring and evaluation of the Start Small project activities. The M&E Coordinator shall facilitate all documentation for the various projects in the Project and ensure that necessary data for impact monitoring is available. S/he shall also facilitate the building of capacity in all matters relating to project monitoring, evaluation and learning for the project staff and partners. S/he shall design and undertake research, including assisting consultants and playing a pivotal role in research that seeks to generate learning and measure impact on the project beneficiaries.
