Holy Family Mission Hospital (HFMH) is under Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) under the Archdiocese of Blantyre of the Roman Catholic Church. It is situated in the south eastern part of Malawi, north of Mulanje Mountain in Phalombe district. It was founded in 1960 by the Medical Mission Sisters of Holland. Holy Family Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant position.

Job Title: Medical Assistant (Grade-L)

Responsible to: Senior Medical Assistant

Responsible for: Diagnosing patients and prescribing treatment

Main Duties

•  Managing Out-patient unit.
•  Diagnosing and screening patients.
•  Examining patients using accepted standards.
•  Prescribe treatment for other patients.
•  Referring patients to other specialists i e for X-ray or laboratory tests etc.
•  Recording patients’ data in relevant registers.
•  Aggregating, analyzing and interpreting data.
•  Disseminating information to all relevant stakeholders including submission of daily reports to the designated officer.
•  Any other duties that may be deem reasonable for the post.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Certificate in Clinical Medicine obtained from recognized training institution and must be registered with the relevant professional body
