Job Description

Position: Market & Extension Field Officers

Seed Co is inviting applicants from suitably qualified, mature and experienced persons to fill the above position (Market & Extension Field Officers) that has risen within the group. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the incumbent will be responsible Post for management and execution of Seed Co Malawi Ltd agronomy and market development strategies in liaison with the Regional Commercial team members. They will also be among first point of contact in their respective areas of jurisdiction for Seed Co Malawi Ltd and they will be expected to fully offer Extension and good agronomic agricultural practices support for all our Maize, Legumes and vegetable portfolios, among others.

Qualification

  •  Diploma in Agriculture, Extension, Agronomy or any agricultural related qualification.
  •  Those who have just graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the above mention fields are also encouraged to apply.
Experience

  •  Minimum 2 years of experience in agronomy and extension services.
  •  Experience in sales and marketing of field crops, Legumes and Vegetables.

key Responsibilities

  •  
  •  Managing key and strategic Extension Planning Areas (EPAs) in allocated area of jurisdiction with support from regional commercial members in order to promote all Seedco Malawi technologies.
  •  Coordinating and interacting with all stakeholders in the agriculture sector (Government agriculture officials, NGOs, Lead Farmers and Farmer groups, rural based agronomy and extension agents, distributors and all other distributors and salesagents).
  •  Lead in identifying and carrying out of demand generation activities such as setting up value propositions,show and tell field demonstrations, farmer’s meetings, farmers field days, farmer product trainings, harvest festivals,coordination of on and off trade and in store sales promotions.
  •  Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of products in the various segments and analyze market to understand opportunities that are available to increase seed usage.
  •  Promote and represent Seedco Mw Ltd in all DAEC and other agricultural strategic meetings and gatherings in the respective territory of jurisdiction.
  •  Provide ‘aftersales’ technical support to the majority of farmers on all Seedco Malawi products and services.
  •  Customer profiling driven by data analysis of previous sales trends and generate sales through creating sales opportunities and order collection.
  •  Identify new potential market and distribution channels and assist the commercial team in developing,perfecting and maintaining ofa viable GTM structure in order to achieve product availability and accessibility to our consumers.
  •  Develop and maintain stakeholder grass roots relationship in order to attain and retain profitable and long lasting mutual beneficial business in area of jurisdiction.
  •  Coordinate the execution of Seedco Mw Ltd agreed Picture of Success (PoS) through proper and accurate placement of all point of sale, marketing and branding collateral to enhance brand and product visibility.
  •  Record, document and handle all product and customer complaints according to Seedco Malawi Ltd procedures and processes.
  •  Provide stock and sales reports, monitor sales and assist in account reconciliation process and close accounts by pushing in all seed returns according to agreed timelines of Seedco Malawi Ltd trading terms and conditions.
  •  Coordinating sales promotions and all other outdoor commercial events in your territory.
