Job Description

Mount Sinai International School in Lilongwe is looking to employ a Maintenance Officer.

Position: Maintenance Officer.

As a Maintenance Officer, the candidate will need to show the following characteristics:

Maintenance Officer duties will include the following:
  •  Carrying out a constant survey and review of ALL of the School resources (toilets, ceilings, sporting and recreational equipment, music room equipment) ensuring that resources needing repairing, renewing or discarding are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Replacing all old school stock with new stock (supervising the replenishing of consumable items such as general cleaning materials for the pool and indoor school equipment). The Maintenance Manager MUST ALWAYS KEEP ABREST OF WHAT STOCK NEEDS TO BE REPLENISHED.
  •  Stock taking
  •  Assist in the procurement of school provisions and equipment
  •  To carry out quality control inspections of the school and reporting to the Managing Director
  •  Supervisor to the school Support Staff, Cleaners, Classroom Helpers, Security guards, Gardeners. Ensuring that all ground workers are doing the correct job and the premises are clean and pristine.
  •  Reporting directly to the Director regarding any issues with the above staff.
  •  Assisting in interviewing ground and support staff.
  •  In charge of the staff register and organizing overtime work for ground and support staff and supervising overtime.
  •  Opening and closing the school premises.
  • Hours of work

Normal working hours will be from 6:30 am to 5p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturdays.


How to apply
 
Candidates are required to have at least 2 years relevant working experience as an Office administrator or Maintenance Manager. Prior experience and knowledge of swimming pool and gym maintenance will be an advantage.

CANDIDATES MUST BE MALE AND MUST BE AT LEAST OVER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD AND REFERENCES.
