SULSDEC Green Villages is a local private company that specializes in building new sustainable urban communities at large scale.

SULSDEC is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Land Surveyor.

POSITION: LAND SURVEYOR

LOCATION: ZOMBA



DUTIES

• Prepare development briefs for land earmarked for development
• Prepare detailed plot layout plans for land acquired for development
• Facilitate the obtaining of planning approvals where necessary from the respective planning authorities
• Where necessary facilitate environmental impact assessments in accordance with the Environmental Management Act
• Identify suitable land for acquisition for development
• Manage land acquisition negotiations
• Provide technical support to our valued customers in land lease and sublease processes as well as obtaining planning approvals and building permits for house construction
• Manage compliance of the Environmental Impact Assessment or Environment Management Plans
• Liaise with service providers (ESCOM, Water Board and Local Authority) in planning for and development of infrastructure and services.
• Any other tasks assigned from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• A Diploma/Degree in physical planning/ Land Survey/ Land Administration or related area
• Knowledge of GIS
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, dynamic, innovative and able to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge in Malawi laws and policies regarding land development
• Excellent knowledge in developing and upgrading suitable systems of managing SULSDEC clients data
• Membership of the Malawi Institute of Physical Planners or Surveyors Institute of Malawi will be an advantage
• A candidate with demonstrable high quality skills; result oriented; and keen to learn new things shall have an added advantage.
• Must be willing to work at awkward hours like 5PM and over the Weekends.
