Job Description

COTTON COUNCIL OF MALAWI was established by the Cotton Act of 2013 with the mandate to regulate, develop and improve the cotton industry in Malawi.

The Vision of CCM is to become a progressive regulator effectively contributing to the economic development of a sustainable cotton industry.

The Mission of the council is to contribute to the growth of the cotton industry through development of standard and regulations, ensuring adherence to fair trade practices by value chain players, promotion of sustainable innovations and information sharing through a competent and committed workforce.

CCM wishes to recruit suitably qualified, experienced and dedicated individuals to fill the following posts:

Position: Knowledge and Learning Manager (1 post)

Purpose of the position

The role of the Knowledge and Learning Manager shall be to ensure existence of proper systems for collecting data, analyzing and reporting for the Council’s activities and the cotton sub-sector as a whole.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preparation of annual plans and budgets.
  • Produce reports as required by management of the Council.
  • Develop and implement cotton evaluation and learning strategy.
  • Develop technical designs of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) methodologies and monitoring tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate cotton programs and make proper recommendations to management.
  • Work with cotton stakeholders to ensure M&E tools and processes are understood and used.
  • Provide advice to staff and stakeholders on M&E decisions.
  • Conduct dissemination meetings to provide evaluation and learning findings to stakeholders in cotton sector.
  • Undertake studies to draw lessons on program implementation and document the studies.
  • Provide guidance and supervision of subordinates in the division.

Academic and Experience

  • MSc in related field with 5years’work experience. Good understanding of knowledge management and experience working with multi-stakeholder teams is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience in programme management
  • Proven stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Comprehensive analytical skills
