Job Description

INTERNS OPPORTUNITY AT NETWORK FOR LABOR RIGHTS MOVEMENT (NLRM)

The Registered Trustees of Network for Labor Rights Movement (NLRM) is a local non-governmental organization which was established in 2016, registered on 3rd September 2017 and is working countrywide in Malawi. NLRM envisions a society in which communities are self-sustaining and have a just, equitable and satisfactory quality of life. NLRM was established to create a just, equitable and satisfactory for all workers in the country and raise a health working generation with the mandate of providing economic capacity building of young people. Its mission is to promote and protect labour rights by assisting the vulnerable and marginalized people in Malawi. NLRM is committed to work with communities in Malawi by promoting social and economic development through programs related to Health, Policy dialogue, community developments, education, Human Rights and Research and Advocacy.  The organization’s vision is based on the Solidarity Humanism to radiate actions aimed at creating a just favorable labor conditions for men and women, particularly the poorest and to actively raise a health working generation to strengthen democracy, equality and economic justice in Malawi.


NLRM achieves this through;

  • Providing legal and civic education / information
  • Offering legal services
  • Responding to human rights abuses
  • Training service providers in the justice system and public sector
  • Promoting law and policy reform
  • Promoting citizen participation in governance

 

CONDITION OF INTERNS

With this in mind NLRM is calling for interested individuals to apply for the following position as interns, with possible of getting permanent employment upon approved funding.

  • NLRM will provide airtime to the interns, and
  • Possible transport (upon approval from the management)
  • Mentorship in various areas of work.

  • Proposal Development Specialist (2 posts)
  • Finance and Administration (2 posts)
  • Para-legal (2 posts)
  • Advocacy and Social dialogue (2 posts)
  • Human Resource (2 posts)
  • Household Economic Specialist (1 post)

QUALIFICATIONS

1.      University degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts
2.      University degree in Accounts/Finance/Administration
3.      Diploma in para-legal studies/Law
4.      University degree in Social sciences, Arts, Humanities
5.      University degree in Social Sciences and Administration
6.      University degree in Social Science, Arts, Finance, Administration


All positions are tenable in Blantyre, Malawi
