Job Description

Microloan Foundation (Malawi) Limited is searching for a talented and experienced HR practitioner to provide oversight of Iits human resources function. The successful candidate will lead initiatives related to the recruitment and staffing of approved roles, maintenance of employment records, compensation and benefits administration, procedural oversight of the onboarding and exit of staff, performance management, and information reporting to Senior Management and external partners.

Position: Human Resources Manager


  • Design, implement and oversee a comprehensive People strategy, including the hiring, on-oarding, professional development and performance management of staff, and relevant training of clients as their lifecycle needs evolve.
  • Develop, communicate and implement a transparent employee rewards and recognition program that is structured to drive a culture of excellence in achieving Microloan’s financial and non-
    financial objectives.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to managers, supervisors and employees regarding the resolution of complex personnel issues such as disciplinary actions, confidential investigations,
    medical accommodations, grievance resolutions, individual or team performance, and the interpretation and application of relevant labour laws.
  • Embed a culture of coaching across the entire organization and oversee the implementation and effective use of a 360-degree feedback process that supports candid learning and development
    discussions between managers and their direct reports on an ongoing basis.


  • 6+ years of progressive responsibilities within HR related functional areas, including at least 3 years of management experience.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience solving multiple and complex challenges through critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
