It works through locally established structures and churches in empowering local communities in addressing developmental challenges. Its work covers Agriculture, Health, Environment, Natural Resources Management, Economic Empowerment and Humanitarian Response.

Assemblies of God Care now seeks to recruit for the following position:

Position: Human Resources and Administration Officer

Reporting Lines

The Human Resources & Administration (HR&A) Officer will work under under the overall supervision of Finance and Administration Manager

Job Focus

The Human Resources & Administration (HR&A) Officer, under the overall supervision of Finance and Administration Manager, will manage the day-to-day Human Resources and Administrative activities. S/he will ensure the development and monitoring of processes related to recruitment and retention, compliance, compensation, benefits, training and development; as well as implementation of administrative functions. 

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and oversee a recruitment process.
  • Review job advertisements, coordinate interview teams, participate in interviewing candidates and ensure that documentation is collected and recorded/filed.
  • Facilitate all labour engagement and manage the new hire orientation and exit process.
  • Annually review the Personnel Handbook recommending amendments needed due to changes in local conditions or labour laws.
  • Manage timesheets for office, ensuring timely submission, approval, accuracy, and filing.
  • Monitor compensation - ensuring internal equity & compliance and benefits.
  • Facilitate job analysis and update job descriptions.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Administration Manager in the preparation of monthly Payroll
  • Review employee final payments for accuracy and compliance with labour laws.
  • Ensure smooth running of all administrative functions
  • Supervise all travel for staff and visitors.
  • Evaluate the need for employee training and development and make recommendation
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of annual performance reviews
  • Work with senior management to resolve employee relations issues pragmatically
  • Investigate employee relations issues &work to ensure human resources related decisions are consistent and fair.

Required Qualifications

  • First Degree in human resources or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
