A career opportunity has arisen in our organisation for the position of HR Zone Officer.

 



Position: HR ZONE OFFICER

 


Reporting to the Business Services Director, the successful applicant will be engaged to offer Generalist HR services to various sections within their Zone of Service coverage.


Key responsibilities and capability framework

  • Provides generalist human resources services including recruitment, staffing, employment
    processing, records management,
  • Serves as HR business partner responsible for championing and supporting the implementation
    and utilisation of HR systems and interventions (like Performance Management Plan) at operational level within a service zone,
  • Serves as HR business partner responsible for the Coordination and Implementation of
    Learning and Development initiatives within the service zone as aligned to business strategy
    and priorities,
  • Offers Industrial/Labour Relations and Employee relations expertise to maintain a healthy
    industrial climate,
  • Handles Staff Welfare services including relocation and repatriation, medical services, medical
    scheme, funeral services, workers’ compensation, among other things,
  • Resolves Labour disputes and complaints, conducts internal disciplinary procedures and
    attends to Labour cases lodged with Industrial Relations Court,
  • Manages Leave administration for staff under his/her zone of control,
  • Verifies employment data and authorizes pay roll for zones under his/her control,
  • Processes Workers’ compensation and attends and responds to Labour complaints lodged at
    Labour office,
  • Provides HR support to various transformational projects to enable timeous fulfilment of
    operational transactions,
  • Ensures client/customer expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving
    concerns; analyzing relevant issues and preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and
    summarizing data and trends,
  • Drives/coordinates Line Manager Ownership of employee engagement and operational
    framework,
  • Liaises with key stakeholders that includes District Labour Office, Chiefs/Traditional Authorities,
    District Commissioners, Police, and Courts on various disputes including land disputes,
  • Attends and responds to Labour complaints lodged at Labour offices.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Behavioural Sciences or Social Sciences obtained from a recognized University or Accredited Institution of Higher Learning,
  • Computer Skills
  • Good Knowledge of Labour/Employment Law
  • Human Resources management experience in a busy and reputable industrial, agro-processing or FMCG factory environment
  • General People Management and Interaction Skills including negotiations, social dialogue and experience in resolving conflict
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proof of continuing professional development will be an added advantage.
    The Person should be Dynamic self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a professional with high regard for personal integrity.
