Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants as the case may be depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Judicial Service.
Post : High Court Judge (Grade P2B)
An applicant should either:
Be or has been a judge of a court having unlimited jurisdiction in criminal or civil proceedings or
Be entitled to practice as a legal Practitioner or an advocate or a solicitor in a court having unlimited jurisdiction in criminal or civil proceedings and has been entitled so to practice for not less than ten (10) years, or
Be entitled to practice as a legal Practitioner or an advocate or a solicitor in a court having unlimited jurisdiction in criminal or civil proceedings and has been entitled so to practice for not less than ten (10} years, but that the person holds or acts in any office the holder of which is, by reason of his or her office, precluded from practicing in court.
In this case, a person shall be regarded as entitled to practice as legal practitioner or an advocate or a solicitor if that person has not been subsequently disbarred or removed from the roll of legal practitioners or advocates or solicitors.
Note: All those who applied for the post of High Court Judge (Grade P2B) in the year 2019 need not apply as they will still be considered alongside the new applicants.
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be needed during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in their service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of appointment (PSR 19).
