Position: Health Justice Coordinator

Fixed Term Contract: 3 years


Closing Date: 31st March 2021


About the role

The Health Justice Coordinator will oversee effective management and relationships with relevant external stakeholders, provide oversight over projects in the Health Justice work-stream, including financial and program quality oversight, lead in preparing and developing high quality proposals and concept notes for Health Justice interventions, review and approve progress and donor reports, and enhance internal and external learning and representation. In addition, the Health Justice Coordinator will also identify new project ideas in line with the thematic area.


Candidates applying for this role must meet the following criteria:

• Master Degree in Public Health/Community Health or other related field with at least 8 years of proven experience in Health Programming (e.g. Health policy and systems, HIV/AIDS and communicable disease interventions, Community Health, Public Health, sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, Family Planning etc)
• Sound knowledge of Malawi’s Health system (primary, secondary, and tertiary health care levels) and strong knowledge of and engagement with Malawi Government, civil society and NGO on health issues.
• Proven ability to analyse complex environments at the local and national level, monitor changes and translate into appropriate strategic advice;
• Well-developed interpersonal and team leadership skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations and to work under pressure and in response to changing needs;
• Experience in working with and developing the capacity of staff and partners.
