Job Description

Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES), the leading supplier of premium brand products including Massey Ferguson tractors and generators, Baldan farm implements, Komatsu construction machinery and precision agriculture solutions has an immediate vacancy for a Group Agricultural
Systems Manager 
to be based at its Head Office in Blantyre.


Position: Group Agricultural Systems Manager 


Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Drivers’ License
  • MSC Geographic Information Systems
  • 10 years’ work experience in a business systems role, ideally around agriculture

Previous Experience

  • Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining GIS based information systems
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of agricultural operations
  • Proficient in ArcGIS/QGIS; Remote sensing; Microsoft Office Suite; and Mobile data collection systems development

  • Utilize computer software to create plans and detailed blueprints
  • Troubleshoot problems that may come up during the agricultural season
  • Monitor daily productivity of contracted equipment
  • Support on contracting costing models, proposal development, tender submission and customer
  • Support on contracting business development of contracting services;
  • Implementation of information systems on electronic vehicle tracking for fuel, utilisation, down time, etc;
  • Data analyses of contracting operations to highlight where efficiencies are not being achieved in order to maximise efficiencies and GP%. This includes the management of operational staff KPI tracking and invoice preparation (operational backing sheets);
  • General GIS support and management of customer and FES and Agrilab spatial data;
  • Create and manage the GIS workflow from Agrilab through to Variable Rate Fertiliser Applications
  • Manage administration of ROC (drone operational licencing), certifications and legal compliance (part of contracting);
  • Support on business development of drone services (part of contracting);
  • Manage the technology adoption process and ensure FES’s drone fleet remains at the cutting edge to support the growth of the drone contracting activities.
