Job Description

Barloworld Equipment represents world leading equipment brands manufactured for the earthmoving,materials- handling, and power generation in Southern Africa, adding value to its customers in these industries through technical and logistic support.

Barloworld Equipment invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following vacant position tenable in Blantyre:



  •  Assistance with preparation of monthly/year end results
  •  Preparation of audit pack and AFS
  • Reviewing of supplier payments
  • Preparation of general ledger recon
  • Management of the fixed asset register
  •  Review and follow up of monthly business expenses
  •  Carry out the annual Fixed asset verification,
  •  Assist with the review and control over Capex spend
  •  Assist with the Quarterly executive review (board pack), FM leads this.
  •  Responsible for business relationship with suppliers
  •  Assist with the proper implementation of Regulatory and Statutory governance including VAT,
  •  Manage foreign creditors accounts
  •  Liaise with internal/external auditors in those areas of responsibility
  •  Responsible for Signing off and releasing payments
  •  Matching and reconciling Caterpillar supplier accounts
  •  Responsible for the Management of warranty accounting
  •  Manage and develop staff
  •  Ensuring that intercompany accounts balance


  •  Bachelor of Accountancy or relevant qualification
  •  SAP Knowledge
  •  Auditing Skills
  •  At least 5- 7 years’ experience in a similar role.
  •  Good communication skills across all levels
  •  Registered with ICAM Malawi.
  •  Excellent organizational and analytical skills, paying close attention to detail.
  •  Ability to analyze information, evaluates options, think and plan strategically and identify needs and pro-actively make improvements.
  •  Experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts.
  •  Team management experience, including leading, engaging and motivating a dynamic team.
  •  Ability to work under pressure and meet urgent deadlines.
  •  Ability to work with minimal supervision meeting organizational objectives.
