Job Description

Airport Developments Limited (ADL) is a Company fully owned by Government and was incorporated under the English Companies Statutes of 1908 and 1913 which regulated Companies in Malawi before 1986.

ADL is responsible for the management of Kamuzu International Airport and facilitation of smooth, safe and secure movement of air travelers and cargo through provision of world class infrastructure, services and effective management of airports in an environmentally sustainable manner for socio-economic development.


Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions tenable at ADL Head office.

Position: FINANCE MANAGER (One Position)


To manage financial and accounting services for effective and efficient utilization of financial resources in the company.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or its equivalent.
  • A Masters in Accounting /Finance/Business Administration or an ACCA, ACA and CIMA Qualification.
  • Be a member of ICAM
  • At least five(5) years’ work experience in Accounting.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team with leadership skills for coaching and developing employees

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial
  • Monitoring and control revenue accounting processes in the company and advising on any deviations and overruns and flexing of budgets.
  • Formulate measures to address cash inflow deficits.
  • Consolidate annual budgets and annual financial statements for both ADL and its subsidiary; and monitor and control expenditure patterns of the company.
  • Maintain good working relationship with the company’s financial partners, clients, and banks in the course of business dealings.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and analyzing variances for submission to management.
  • Review and maintain sound financial and accounts management systems.
  • Monitor and control expenditure to ensure adherence to budget policies, systems and procedures and advising management and stakeholders on financial matters.
  • Ensure that legal payment obligations e.g. salaries, wages, taxes, pension contributions, licences, subscriptions are met as they fall due.
  • Approve all batches before they are posted in the accounting system.
  • Ensuring that all statutory reporting requirements are met on time
  • Facilitate and monitor bank transfers and payments
  • Ensure that debt collection is up-to-date and payment to creditors is done in a proper manner.
  • Lead in the preparation and implementation of external audits.


Remuneration package payable for the above positions is in accordance with our Conditions of Service and will be awarded to the successful applicant accordingly.
