Job Description

NICO Pension Services Limited, a leading pension administration company. is looking for qualified, energetic, and experienced candidates with strong passion for excellence to fill the challenging leadership position above, tenable at the head Office in Blantyre.


Position: Finance Manager 

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial assurance and control, accurate financial, management, statutory, and operational reports and information in line with International Financial Reporting Standards, Policies and Procedures and Regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have the following as Key Result Areas:
  •  Business planning which includes analysing business growth, development, and performance, developing and consolidating financial forecasts, drafting and submitting annual financial operating plan, and developing action plans and performance indicators for the team.
  •  Budget Management and Control, covering reviewing, analysing, and consolidating budget requirements, and budget monitoring on a monthly basis.
  •  Budget preparation and forecasting, which covers coordination of the budgeting process, reviewing financial plans’ submissions, consolidating the budget input, development of five year projections, and maintaining and monitoring quality control.
  •  Management and Financial reporting covering developing and updating financial and management reporting tools, analysing investment reports for Pension Funds, preparation of the Consolidation Pack, preparation of accounts for Pension Funds and NICO Pension, preparation of annual statutory Financial Statements, preparation of monthly Company preparation of annual statutory Financial Statements, preparation of monthly Company Performance reports, variance analyses, and financial analysis. and accompanying commentaries. and coordinating
  •  Business Continuity Planning which ruches the development and review of the Business Continuity Plan.
  •  Financial Risk Management and Compliance Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance covering ensuring full compliance to policies, procedures, and systems, monitoring implementation of Risk Management procedures for the department, and coordinating and monitoring the production and submission of periodic reports.
  •  Treasury and working capital management covering reviewing and evaluating cashflow forecasts. cashflow position, reviewing and authorizing payments, and ensuring that all reconciliation.s are done
  •  People Management covering al the necessary Human Capital Management issues for the department in liaison with the Human Resources Business Partner.
Competences, Qualifications, and Experience.

  • A university degree in Accountancy, or its equivalent
  •  A chartered qualified Accountant with ACCA or CIMA.
  •  Six (6) to eight (8) years’ experience in an accounting background, four (4) of which should have been at middle management position
  •  Ability to manage and develop staff
  •  Clear verbal and written communication and ability to prepare accurate reports
  •  Ability to plan and organize in line with job requirements
  •  Ability to analyse and solve work related challenges to achieve the correct outcomes
  • Ability to interact, negotiate, and achieve targets
