Job Description

Position: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Wella Medical Aid Society Ltd (WEMAS) is the most innovative medical insurance Company in Malawi with its Head Office in Lilongwe and a Branch Office in Blantyre.

We are in the process of strengthening our Management Team and as a result we are seeking the services of a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Finance and Administration Manager tenable at our Head office in Lilongwe.

WEMAS seeks to recruit a dynamic and results-oriented finance professional with extensive experience in corporate finance and transaction services. The manager will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  •  Lead the corporate finance team;
  •  Develop and maintain strong working relationships with major stakeholders;
  •  Develop and refine management accounting and reporting systems;
  •  Review financial data and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports including business performance reports;
  •  Maintain monthly detailed audit schedules that reconciles fully to the general ledger including bank payables and receivable reconciliations;
  •  Oversee internal and external audit processes;
  •  Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company;
  • Identify methods for minimizing financial risk to the company;
  •  Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation including taxation, insurance and pension issues;
  •  Minimize the business exposure to litigation by providing sound advice to management;
  • Manage the company’s administrative functions including contractual commitments, legal requirements, procurement and logistical activities;
  •  Maintain proper HR procedures in relation to recruitment, orientation; training, appraisals and employee benefits; and
  •  In liaison with the CEO manage all the risks of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Must be aged between 25 and 35 years.
  •  Must be a holder of a Degree in Accountancy, Financial Management or related field.
  •  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance management and administration in a busy commercial setting.
