Job Description

A Non-Governmental, Christian organization originating from the USA implementing Livelihoods and WASH programs would like to engage the services of a Finance and Administration Manager. The NGO is registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act of Malawi. The NGO serves all communities without discrimination.

The Finance and Administration Manager will be based in the City of Zomba. This is a senior position and only those who meet the requirements below should apply for the job.

The Person

  • Self-motivated, hands own, dynamic with ability to monitor and supervise staff to achieve desired results.
  • Have strong analytical and quantitative skills with a result oriented personality.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Be computer literate including computerized accounting systems.
  • A devout Christian with unquestionable Christian values Of Malawian origin.


Finance Duties

  • Manage the financial reporting and accounting systems of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain a proper accounting system which meets the financial information of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain Finance Manual, Provision of financial advice to management.
  • Prepare statutory and donor financial reports.
  • Approve and process correct financial transactions.
  • Excellent ability of accounting systems, MRA tax system, banking policies and procedures and insurance matters
  • Experience in monitoring budgets and systems development.
  • Maintain internal controls over the offices’ financial transactions and operations
  • Review the effectiveness of the internal control systems and monitor compliance.
  • Ensure accurate accounting records are set up and maintained
  • Experience of financial management.

Administration Duties

  • Managing the administration and Human Resource of the organization.
  • Coordinate operations and manage all administrative issues
  • Handling Insurance Issues of the organization.
  • Ensuring that all procurement processes are followed.


The right candidate should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Level 2 ACCA
  • With not less than 5 years’ experience working in a busy accounting office dealing with multiple donors/ projects.
