Concern Worldwide Malawi has the following exciting opening in Malawi for talented and committed individual. Concern is an innovative and dynamic development and humanitarian organisation, currently working in the districts of Mangochi, Phalombe, Chikwawa, Mulanje and Nsanje, implementing programmes in Food Security & Resilience; Health & Nutrition; Gender Equality and Education.

Purpose of the role

You will implement Concern Worldwide’s Promoting Sustainable Partnerships for Empowered Resilience (PROSPER Programme activities at community level, with support from the Project Support Officer and Project Manager\/District Programme Manager.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Ensure that beneficiaries are effectively targeted and registered according to established criteria.
• Implement project activities at community level with support from the Programme Support Officer for the duration of the project period.
• Organise and mobilise the lead farmers and extended community members to be involved in project activities
• Ensures the active participation of communities in all phases of the project.
• Oversee and document all CSA, assets creation, and watersheds management trainings and activities for respective households, to ensure accountability.
• Report on any problems encountered in the field such as project participant complaints, local authority interference, and security threats staff and activities. Report any security threats to Concern Worldwide staff and activities to your PSO and Team Leader
• Prepare regular plans and reports on project activities
• Contribute to effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use in coordination with the other program staff.
• Develop and submit case studies\/change stories monthly.

Credentials and Experience

• Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Agriculture, Crop Production, Agricultural Extension, Plant Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Natural Resources Management or Community Development
• At least two years’ experience in project implementation, with an NGO/INGO in Malawi, preferably in livelihoods/community or rural development on agricultural livelihoods projects and agricultural extension as an extension worker.
• Experience in community targeting and registration, data collection and carrying out surveys
• Good understanding of community-based approaches and practical use of participatory approaches
• Strong facilitation, report writing skills and communication and mentoring skills.
• Able or willing to ride a motorcycle.
