Job Description

Applications are being invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position tenable at ESCOM’s Head Office in Blantyre.

Position: ENVIRONMENT OFFICERS 

JOB PURPOSE

To provide Environmental Services that enables:

• Protecting staff and affiliates working on distribution lines from harm e.g. management of wastes while executing duties.
• Management of environment to ensure sustainability.
• Maintain environmental standards for compliance with environmental legislation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To supervise Environmental Management Systems (EMS) implementation within the Corporation
• To handle waste management issues within the Corporation
• Monitoring and compliance of Environmental Plant (EMP)
• Sensitizing staff and public on Environmental Management issues

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• 4 years’ practical experience in Environmental management.
• Possession of World Bank Safeguards Certificate/International Donor Safeguards certificate is an added advantage
