Job Description

COMSIP Cooperative Union Limited is a member owned organization with a national footprint. It is a secondary cooperative, registered under the Cooperative Societies Act 1998. COMSIP works with rural and peri-urban community groups that are owned, managed and controlled by members themselves and its main thrust is building a culture of savings and investment among ordinary Malawians in a quest to improve livelihoods.

COMSIP is an implementing agency in the Malawi Social Support for Resilient Livelihoods Project (MSSRLP), a government of Malawi project supported by the World Bank.

With funding from the World Bank through the National Local Government Finance Committee (NLGFC) COMSIP therefore intends to use part of the funding to recruit suitably qualified, experienced, and result oriented project staff for the following posts to be based in Lilongwe and Mzuzu.

Drivers (2 posts)

The drivers shall report to the Human Resources Officer/Administrative Assistant

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Conducting daily and routine motor vehicle check
  • Cleaning vehicles
  • Advising human resource assistant on vehicle repairs
  • Checking and advising on vehicle licences
  • Driving vehicles competently with consideration of defensive driving
  • Maintenance of vehicle log books
  • Report accident promptly
  • Ensuring safety of passengers/property in the vehicle.
  • Ensuring full compliance to the traffic regulations and code.
  • Promoting positive corporate image of the company.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Must hold valid Professional and C1 Driving Licenses
  • Minimum MSCE
  • Must possess of Defensive driving certificate
  • At least 5 years’ experience in driving preferably in donor funded projects
  • Knowledge and adherence to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
