Job Description

Position:          District Data Supervisors (2 posts)

Project:             Community-Led Monitoring Project on HIV and TB in Kasungu and Dedza Districts

Position Location:     Kasungu and Dedza

Duration:          12 months (subject to renewal based on performance and extension of the project)

Reports to:        Project M&E Officer

A. Background
Malawi Network of Religious Leaders living with or personally affected by HIV and AIDS (MANERELA+) is a non-profit Faith Based Organization that was established in 2004. The network exists to fight Stigma, Shame, Denial, Discrimination, In-action and Miss-action (SSDDIM) within religious institutions, congregations and local communities for the purpose of scaling up HIV, TB, SRHR, GBV and Malaria prevention, Treatment, Care and Impact mitigation services in Malawi.

MANERELA+ has secured funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPC) to implement a Community-Led Monitoring project on HIV, TB and Covid 19 in Kasungu and Dedza districts.

MANERELA+ hereby invites applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the vacant position of Data Supervisors based in Dedza and Kasungu for the above mentioned project.


Position: Data Supervisors



B. Job Description

The Data Supervisors will be responsible for the day to day supervision of data collectors, provide technical support to the data collectors, perform quality controls on information collected by his/her district data collection teams; timely tracking and organization of completed data tools and submission/uploading of project data.


Specific duties

  • Work hand in hand with the data collectors to provide technical support on data collection where necessary
  • Verify and validate data collected by the data collectors
  • Organize target communities/respondents for focus group discussions and one on one interviews
  • Support the project Officers in mobilization and organization of advocacy meetings with local authorities on emerging issues from the project data at community and district level
  • Randomly attend interviews done by data collectors
  • Randomly interview the target communities and conduct FGDs for quality control
  • Ensure timely compilation, submission and uploading of project data by data collectors
  • Ensure timely feedback and communication to target communities on project data and progress
  • Act as a focal liaison person at district level on the CLM project
  • Undertake other general duties as assigned by MANERELA+ from time to time


C. Qualifications requirements



Education

  • Diploma in Social sciences, M&E, Statistics, Community development or related field


Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related position on data management
  • Prior experience working in the HIV/Health sector and non-governmental organization will be an added advantage
  • Experience on handling electronic data using tablets


Job Skills

  • Good supervisory and Leadership skills
  • Excellent team work and group dynamic management skills
  • Flexibility to work with and adapt to grassroots community setting.
