Job Description

The Bantwana Initiative of World Education Inc. (WEI/Bantwana) seeks experienced Data Entry Clerks under the USAID AND PEPFAR funded Ana Patsogolo Activity, a project aimed at preventing new HIV infections and reducing vulnerability among Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in 8 high HIV prevalent districts in the Southern Region of Malawi. WEI / Bantwana is a leader in OVC programming and organizational capacity development in high HIV prevalence countries in southern and eastern Africa. 

Data Entry Clerks will support the management of data in the APA M&E system by sorting, collating, entering, and cleaning data from OVC and DREAMS components of the program. Data capturing will ensure that the program clears the backlog thereby relieving the M&E staff to support in other partner activities

Responsibilities:

  • Transferring data from paper formats and other formats into computer files or DHIS2 database systems
  • Typing in data provided directly from field officers into the system in readiness for OVC
  • Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents
  • Updating existing data as shared by APA SI
  • Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
  • Data reporting

Required qualifications of each Consultant

  • Educated to Diploma Level. The degree is added advantage
  • At least 5 years experience in data entry
